Mt. Wolf: Momentum

The past couple of years for Mt. Wolf have seen sell-out live shows across UK, Europe and the US, critical acclaim in the Blog Sound Poll of 2016 and a growing live reputation as a band with a sound destined for the bigger stages. Grouped as a 3 piece, the band’s splicing of electronic and acoustic elements and expansive layered sounds has earned them comparisons to the likes of Mogwai, London Grammar, Explosions in the Sky and Sigur Ros.

This spring/summer saw the band make a series of gigs and festival appearances including SXSW, Great Escape, Dot To Dot, Secret Garden Party, Tramlines, Deershed Festival, Larmer Tree, MaMA Festival and a sold out headline show at Oslo, Hackney.

Having released two critically acclaimed EPs (‘Red’ 2015 and ‘Hex’ 2016) and one stand alone single (‘Golden’, Sept 16), Mt. Wolf’s long-awaited debut album, produced by Ken Thomas, is due to be released in early 2017.

The next 6 months are already looking busy for the 3 piece, with confirmed festival appearances at One of A Million Festival and Bad Bonn (Feb 17, CH), SXSW 17 (March, US), and a UK and European headline tour in April & May 17 to promote the release of their debut album.

With a live sound that both fractures and unites the audience as the lyrics move through deterioration to rejuvenation, the band are primed to build on the enormous success and recognition of their history and move into a new thrilling phase in 2017.
