Red Rum Club: Momentum

Since forming in 2016, Scouse-Americana outfit Red Rum Club have toured the UK extensively, booking every show themselves and adopting a strong DIY work ethic which has seen them build up an ever-expanding fanbase – a measure of their popularity is that they SOLD OUT the 02 academy main room in Liverpool last September to 1200 fans! They also played all major UK spring/summer festivals in 2018, plus an international showcase at Zandari Fest in Seoul, South Korea, and are headlining stages at many festivals this year. In addition Red Rum Club will supporting The 1975 at the Summer Well Festival in Bucharest Romania in August.

Red Rum Club recently topped the industry vote in the prestigious Pirate Prodigies UK best emerging band which is now set to step their profile up notably in the UK and beyond. In addition, Red Rum Club signed a record deal with Modern Sky UK and their debut album ‘MATADOR’, released in January to rave reviews went in at number 47 position in the UK Official Album Chart Sales and number 5 in alternative chart.

As a result of securing the Momentum Music Fund grant, Red Rum Club have now booked a UK tour of 14 shows for May. Without the Momentum Music Fund grant this may not have been possible to undertake financially and Red Rum Club are so grateful to PRSF that they have been afforded this opportunity to the spread their Scouse-Latino sounds to new fans across the UK and beyond.
