Mount Palomar: The Open Fund for Music Creators

Multi-disciplinary artist Neil Kerr launched Mount Palomar in 2018 at a sold out show, playing alongside local acclaimed producer Or:la for tastemaker Belfast promoters, Twitch. Within days of his debut live performance, Neil was booked to play live in world famous Berlin institution, Berghain and was subsequently invited back to play 4 times, culminating in a peak time performance on the main Berghain floor on Gay Pride.

With a love of abstract electronica and an obsession with the malleable world of dance music production, Neil quickly gained traction from key industry figures. Approached by James Pitt, founding director of industry leading marketing company, YourArmy, Neil soon found himself signed to one of the UK’s freshest new electronic publishing companies, Minds On Fire.

Following the release of his two debut EPs in 2019, both of which were self-released on twin vinyl, with covers designed and hand-screenprinted by Neil in the Belfast Print workshop, Neil was invited to play at venues such as Printworks London and on the Boiler Room stage at the 5000 capacity AVA Festival.

With support from the PRS Foundation, Neil will create a new inventive body of work that will see him merging underground electronic music with experimental contemporary classical orchestration. In pushing himself to work with new sonic textures, incorporating live instrumentation and a choral ensemble, Neil will record and release his new EP, “The Darkest Light” in 2021, which will be marketed worldwide by the YourArmy team.
