Natalie Maddix: Women Make Music

The late great Frankie Knuckles once said of house music: “It’s church for people that have fallen from grace.” Anyone who has been caught up in the rapture of a true house classic can testify to its power to unify and uplift.

House Gospel Choir is the place where spirituality and the euphoria of the dancefloor come together. HGC brings together 40 outstanding singers, all passionate about music and performance and dedicated to giving a great show.

Live keyboards, DJ and percussion combine with the choir — whose leaders have sessioned and toured with the likes of MNEK, Scissor Sisters, Wretch 32, Naughty Boy and Bryan Ferry — to create an electric house-meets-gospel sound will raise the roof.

Produced by HGC founder Natalie Maddix, the HGC EP is a collection of original tracks created by the House Gospel Choir collective and affiliated musicians. This recording marks a crucial phase in the development of HGC and will be central to the 2015 set list with performances planned at the ACE Hotel Shoreditch in April and several festivals across 2015.
