Bio: Ni Maxine is an award-winning Liverpool-based artist exploring Black British identity, belonging and healing through a rich blend of jazz, soul, contemporary Black music. Described by NME as a “Neo-jazz star”, her work combines velvet vocals, conscious lyricism and deeply personal storytelling rooted in everyday life.<br ‘Ni Maxine isn’t just rising; she’s redefining what it means<br />to belong in this moment of UK music.’ (Wordplay).

Her debut EP ‘Mother’s Arms’ has been championed by tastemakers including Gilles Peterson, Jamie Cullum and Soweto Kinch, alongside coverage from Rolling Stone UK to Wordplay to featuring on the cover of Brassic Magazine, spotlighting the North. In 2025 she was awarded ‘Breakthrough Act of the Year’ at the Jazz FM Awards and nominated for the NOTION New Music Awards. Live performance has been central to her rise, with appearances at We Out Here, EFG London Jazz Festival, Cheltenham Jazz Festival, Mostly Jazz, alongside a UK headline tour and a performances with the Nu Civilisation Orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall.<br Creating independently from Liverpool, Ni Maxine is building a world around her music that centres honesty, emotions and family, as she develops her debut album project.
