NMC Recordings: The Open Fund for Organisations

NMC Recordings is an award-winning record label and new music charity. Founded in 1989, we exist to enrich cultural life by connecting listeners worldwide with exceptional contemporary classical music from Britain and Ireland. Our 300 releases have supported 350+ composers at all stages of their career, featuring 600 of the world’s leading artists and ensembles. Annually, our catalogue receives 3 million downloads, streams and CD sales across 141 countries.

Debut Discs launched in 2012 specifically to meet a need from early career composers for professional recordings of their work. So far supporting 18 composers, these albums act as a ‘calling card’ showcasing a broad range of each composer’s music to wide audiences, securing repeat performances, attracting new commissions and professional opportunities. Since 2016, we have embedded a professional development package equipping composers with vital industry skills and knowledge to cement their future careers.

This third series of Debut Discs will see a further four composers supported and given the opportunity to release a debut album, professionally recorded and released by NMC.
