Noushy: POWER UP Music Creator

Biog:

Noushy, a 24 year old trombonist, vocalist and producer from Glasgow, is becoming one of the UK’s most in-demand musicians; being an active part of her city’s thriving scene, ever since embarking on her studies in jazz trombone at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2017, and graduating with an honor’s degree in 2021.

She has been curating music nights from the age of 19, and ran a popular monthly jazz night in the centre of Glasgow, ‘Lucky 7’ (no longer exists), in 2019, which brought together a rich and diverse community of artists/musicians; many of who are now the city’s most sought after players.

Noushy was the recipient of the Rising Star Award at the Scottish Jazz Awards in 2020, and was the first POC to ever receive this award. n August 2023, Noushy composed and produced music for short film, ‘The Rest of Them’ which won best LGBTQ+ Short at the Paris International Short Festival & Berlin Short Awards, as well as a semi-finalist in the New York International Woman Festival and Chicago Filmmaker Awards.

She currently leads her own group, ‘NooVision’, co-leads a monthly music night, ‘GLITCH41’ in the heart of Glasgow’s southside, and plays with some of the UK’s most sought after groups – Kokoroko, corto.alto, Josef Akin to name a few.

She is currently preparing to record her debut EP under ‘NooVision’, in which she aims to blend the live ‘jazz’ sound, with elements of electronica.
