Ariwo: 2018 UK Dates and Album Launch

Ariwo are a band with Cuban/Iranian roots, focused on exploring the intersection between electronic and ancestral rhythm.

The band brings together Iranian electronic composer POUYA EHSAEI and two of London’s most influential Cuban musicians; Irakere’s Latin Grammy winning “percussion virtuoso”, HAMMADI VALDES; and godfather of London’s Cuban scene, ORESTE NODA.

Pouya processes the live instrumentation while creating soundscapes and hypnotic rhythms that draw influence from the folkloric music of Cuba and his home city of Tehran.

Ariwo premiered at the Manana Cuba Boiler Room Session in 2015.
