Emerge – Women In Music

CPWM supports individuals in the Leeds City Region into sustainable careers within music and showcases the wealth of talent in the region. Our ‘Emerge – Women In Music’ program will facilitate our work in re-balancing the gender gap in the music industry locally.

The program will start with a public call-out to women/non-binary/trans artists at the appropriate stage of their careers to benefit from a physical/digital single release via our well-respected 7” ‘Singles Club.’ These musicians will benefit from recording support, distribution (via Republic Of Music) as well as support in developing their audiences through press campaigns (online/print) and radio plugging and live support including all-day launch events in Leeds and London (or Manchester).

We will also be offering targeted mentoring opportunities from experienced industry professionals to an additional six artists (minimum) to help them progress their careers to a stage where the support above will be most effective. The program’s focus will be a Women in Music day’s symposium, building on our inaugural summer 2017 event. The 2018 edition will celebrate women in the music industries regionally and feature a series of panels, speakers, workshops, performances and opportunities for networking that will link directly to our artist development program.
