ABOUT US - Mixed Media Performance Featuring New Music by Sylvia Hallett
ABOUT US is directed and choreographed by Jacky Lansley with new music by Sylvia Hallett, cinematography by Roswitha Chesher and lighting design by Nao Nagai. The interdisciplinary performers include: Vincent Ebrahim, Esther Huss, Fergus Early, Ingrid MacKinnon, Ursula Early, Jreena Green and Tim Taylor;
ABOUT US will be performed in London (Oxford House Theatre), Leicester (Cultural Exchanges Festival/De Montfort University), Liverpool (Bluecoat arts centre) and is a performance built around the performers shared personal experiences – about home, homelessness, grief, joy, caring, the environment, cultural identity and gender. The repetition of these ‘stories’ through film, soundscapes and live performance becomes celebratory, insightful and intriguing, as large and small events are framed and made special. ABOUT US explores the extraordinary and the everyday; any audience can recognize their own gestures and feelings in the movement, sound and imagery – it is a performance about us all…
