Lost - Dance Theatre and Digital Work with Live Music
LOST is exploring the human conditions when going through difficult times, which might effect a persons mental health (chronic depression), alter their long term memories and emotions and in most extreme cases even lead to suicide. It will be achieved through use of dance theatre and aerial technique with silk combined with visual imagery, projection mapping, live music, sensory scent, and innovative set design to create an immersive environment to offer a unique theatrical experience for audiences and to tap into their emotions and expectations of the overall performance.
David Mackenzie is a producer and multi-instrumentalist. His music is a combination of world sounds with electronica, dance and hip hop music. His live shows consist of Stantz with MIDI triggering equipment, keyboard, bass and live vocals. His experiences working with Live Electronic, Dance, Film and no fear for improvisation will be valuable in this project. He will engage with the dancer in the studio creating sound-backdrop.
Lucie’s work, and the work of the Lucie Lee Dance Company, provides an insight into how the technological advances of the 21st century is shaping art for the future. Visitors to their exhibits and audience members at their performances will find work with more dimensions than that of simply dance, and an engaging consideration into the mind of one of Yorkshire’s innovative performers emerging today. The Lucie Lee Dance Company is an emerging professional Dance Theatre Company, which embraces the use of digital technologies within performance; produces experimental dance theatre and site-specific work.
