"Percussionist extraodinare Joby Burgess” presents Different Diversions (a percussionists songbook)

“Percussionist extraordinaire Joby Burgess” (BBC Music Magazine) presents Different Diversions (a percussionists songbook), a collection of new music bringing together melodic percussion and electronics, inspired by short stories, pop songs and urban folklore.

The project will commission nine new pieces of music from Gabriel Prokofiev, Dobrinka Tabakova, Graham Fitkin, Dario Marianelli, Yazz Ahmed, John Metcalfe, Michael Nyman, Hannah Kendall and Tunde Jegede to be premiered at Cambridge Music Festival (3-14 November, 2020) and recorded for release on Signum Classics.

One of Britain’s most diverse percussionists, Joby Burgess is best known for his virtuosic, often lissom performances, daring collaborations, extensive education work, and regularly appears throughout Europe, the USA and beyond. Both in the studio and on the road Joby Burgess works with artists including Peter Gabriel, Will Gregory (Goldfrapp), Max Richter, Steve Reich, Pete Tong (DJ) and Eric Whitacre.
