Golden Fable and NEW Sinfonia: The Open Fund for Music Creators

Jon Guy of NEW Sinfonia and Tim Joy of Golden Fable have been developing new material for a collaborative album.

Jon Guy is a composer and performer who cofounded NEW Sinfonia, a new classical music ensemble based in North Wales. His works have been performed by NEW Sinfonia at the North Wales International Music Festival and in the NEW Sounds Collective series.

Tim Joy has been a prolific writer of original material for many years, achieving critical acclaim as the writer and instrumentalist in “Golden Fable”. To date, the duo have released two albums, “Star Map” and “Ancient Blue”, through their own record label Full of Joy Records, and toured extensively all over the UK and in the USA.

The album will consist of entirely new material that has been co-authored by Tim and Jon and will combine Golden Fable’s unique sound and the quality of NEW Sinfonia’s musicians to create an exciting and innovative album, which will be a trailblazer in the collaborative genre.

This grant will enable Jon and Tim to embark on the recording of their collaborative album and give its first live performance at the FOCUS Wales festival 2017 in Wrexham. The album will feature some of the finest musicians from North Wales.
