Hastings Fat Tuesday Music Festival

Hastings Fat Tuesday Festival is a 5 day music event that supports the creation, performance and promotion of new music .

The Festival will partner with leading organizations to deliver a free-entry CPD day for all those involved in music, with a focus in 2018 on touring (international and local), funding streams (DIY, Sponsors, Grants), Industry pathways (labels, management, publishing) and Young People (what can be done to support young music makers and emerging artists).

Following the success of the pilot Off Axis gig swap/showcase in 2017 we’ll develop this to provide emerging artists across the UK, the opportunity to showcase to new local/regional audiences as part of a high profile event. The Off-Axis and UnConvention events are intended to help musicians think strategically about how they can develop their careers, offering discussion, advice and information from industry professionals, and enabling networking opportunities. Linked to this is a Young Music-Makers strand. Slots on the main programme will be offered to local young artists who show real potential alongside a dedicated stage that supports younger musicians at all stages of their musical development. Ongoing support will be provided locally to support emerging talent via mentoring culminating in further showcase opportunities. Our new Young Music-Makers strand is designed to bring on the musicians of the future and be a key part of their learning process. Mentoring gives them opportunity to experiment in a safe environment, gain peer feedback, and benefit from specific music career guidance.
