General Roots Support The Specials on UK Tour

General Roots are a 6 piece reggae band hailing from North London. In the autumn of 2016, the group embarked on a 21 date UK tour supporting international Ska legends The Specials. The Generals showcased their vintage roots & lovers rock sound to over 35,000 people across a month period, getting the die hard Specials fans nice and warmed up ready for the headliners. The tour culminated in two sell out shows at London’s Troxy Theatre in November, with the group playing to nearly 7,000 people across the two nights.

The band have grown a loyal following across the UK reggae scene over the last four years, having supported the likes of The Skints, Madness, Hollie Cook&Gentleman’s Dub Club to name a few, and have performed at prestigious music festivals such as Glastonbury, Isle Of Wight, Boomtown Fair & Outlook Croatia.

General Roots head into 2017 positively, having completed two UK tours, and also releasing their debut album Walk Tall which came out in June 2016 on Evergreen Recordings, and in Japan on P-Vine Records in August 2016. The live arena is definitely the best place to experience the sound of General Roots at its finest.
