MAS presents Distortions - Music x Neuroscience Immersive Happenings

A series of ritual immersive music happenings based around our research into Perceptual disorders. Featuring works by Lore Lixenberg, Tom Richards, Nwando Ebizie and Moss Beynon Juckes, the events will explore perception: altered states, visual illusions and hallucinations; and how it is linked to the creative act. Led by Neuro-different artists Nwando Ebizie (Visual Snow) and Jonathan Grieve (Synaesthesia), the performances will be part art installation, part gig, designed to challenge audience perceptions through sensory distortion.

Mas productions is an experimental art collective with an interdisciplinary focus on neo-ritual music performance. Their most recent production, a 15 night run of The Passion of Lady Vendredi received critical acclaim and the debut EP by Lady Vendredi, supported by Gilles Peterson and Floating Points received radio play on 6music and Worldwide FM. Recent projects include a one month festival of artistic/scientific research and performance exploring perception: ‘Your Reality is Broken Festival’ at Yinka Shonibare’s Guest Projects. Upcoming projects include curating a Friday Spectacular for the Wellcome Collection.
