The Multi-Story Orchestra - Dani Howard 2018 Commission

The Multi-Story Orchestra are thrilled to be commissioning composer Dani Howard for their 2018 summer season at Bold Tendencies Car Park Peckham. The new work will involve around 100 young people from local schools in Peckham performing alongside The Multi-Story Orchestra with conductor Christopher Stark.

Dani Howard is a British composer who was born and raised in Hong Kong. Interested in collaborating with artists of various disciplines, she has worked with dancers, artists, film-makers and architects on a variety of projects. She graduated from the Royal College of Music where she received a first class BMus Honors Degree. Her work has been performed and screened across the UK and internationally in countries including Italy, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Netherlands, Romania, Brazil and USA (New York, California, Indiana, Michigan, Oregon, Maryland, Nevada and North Carolina). She has just received 1st Prize in the ‘Breaking The Fourth Wall International Composition Competition’, and has recently had her works performed by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong and was composer in residence at the Suoni Dal Gofo Festival of Music and Poetry in Italy in the summer of 2017.

The Multi-Story Orchestra presents extraordinary performances in unexpected settings. From car parks to schools and festivals, they create amazing live classical music experiences performed by incredible musicians. The Orchestra was started in 2011 by composer Kate Whitley and conductor Christopher Stark.
