Oram Awards CIC (TDN 2025)
Organisation Biog: In 2025, we are taking a break from the traditional awards programme to produce a series of special events celebrating Daphne Oram’s Centenary. Now in our 8th year, we believe it is the right time to reflect on the programme so far and develop ways to further support the 50+ artists by commissioning new works, providing mentoring, and offering live performance opportunities. We will focus on three main strands of activity:
1. Mentoring – this programme is at the heart of our work as an organisation. It aims to build confidence through connection, enabling artists to develop one-on-one relationships with industry professionals over six months, offering a space for active listening, problem-solving, goal-setting, and responding directly to the areas of support identified by our mentees. New Commissions – by Oram alumni using a new sample library of Oram’s sound archive. 3. Tour – We will tour six grassroots music venues in the East Midlands, North East, and South West of England, showcasing 15 emerging female and gender-non-conforming music creators from a variety of backgrounds and genres that are underrepresented in the music industry.
