Oxford Contemporary Music: TDN 2026
Short Project Title: OCM’s Creative Development Programme for Sound and Music Creators
Bio: OCM is a champion for cross-genre, cross-disciplinary music and sound. We support imaginative presentations outdoors and in public spaces, where we can connect creators with new and non-arts audiences. OCM is a presenter, producer, talent development organisation and educational charity working at both national and local levels. Our programmes include live events by both emerging and established artists, creator development, commissioning, learning and community-based music and sound projects.
Programme Description: OCM has been supporting creators in realising their creative ambitions through commissioning, presentation and wider support for over 20 years. Its specialism is in working outdoors and in public space in order to engage with a wide and diverse audience nationally for new music and sound. The 2026-27 programme will include opportunities for 5 creators to grow their practice through a nine-month programme with OCM called BOOM. They’ll receive R&D support, mentoring, training and access to peer networking. Supporting creators with the realisation of new work will run alongside BOOM. We will support new work that is about climate, the environment and our relationship with nature. We provide producer support and funding to help artists create projects and connect with audiences. As a presenter we will provide a live platform for new work from artists working across genres, disciplines and in unusual spaces around Oxfordshire. This year’s programme also includes new opportunities for artists to engage with each other to collaborate, make new work and to contribute to the progression and development of sound and music in public space strategy.
