Philip Venables is a composer of classical and contemporary music. His music has been described as “brutally effective” by The Times and “gritty, soulful” by The Strad magazine.

His work has been performed and broadcast by ensembles such as BBC Symphony Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic, London Symphony Orchestra, London Sinfonietta, Ensemble 10-10 of the RLPO, Endymion, the LUX Ensemble (Austria), the Duke Quartet, the BBC Singers, the Black Dyke Brass Band and Rambert Dance Company, and others.

He studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Philip Cashian and at Cambridge University, UK. He is also the Artistic Director of the British chamber ensemble Endymion. He produces and promotes chamber ensemble and events through his agency fourfortytwo.
