For:

Rambert Music Fellowship - one year composer in residence programme

Find out more by visiting:

www.rambert.org.uk/

Rambert is the UK’s national company for contemporary dance, based in a flagship new building on London’s South Bank. We perform with live music at every performance, in large-scale theatres all over the UK. We are a major commissioner of new music and dance; we are the company responsible for presenting some of the world’s great dance repertoire in the UK; and Rambert has always been a training ground for significant choreographers and composers.

Rambert is looking for a fifth Music Fellow to succeed Gavin Higgins, Mark Bowden, Cheryl Frances-Hoad and Kate Whitley. The successful candidate will be a composer or music producer from any background and genre of music; she or he will be energetic, creative, communicative, and exceptionally gifted.

There is no fixed programme, and the 12 months can be tailored to a bespoke period of creative development.

The Music Fellowship provides an opportunity to work with the company, learn about contemporary dance, and make a significant creative contribution to the company’s activities. Examples of past music fellows’ work with us include writing music for our choreographic development programme and for dance films; arranging and orchestrating music for the national tour; leading workshops with dancers, choreographers and musicians; curating concerts and public events with dance in our studio; talking about new music to the company and in public. Several of our past fellows have gone on to be commissioned by the company and other major arts institutions.
