ephemerals: International Showcase Fund (Reeperbahn 2016)

ephemeral’s 7 piece line up is that of a classic soul band, yet their sound has elements of jazz, rock and hip hop underpinning the lyrical content which is always thoughtful, hard hitting and unafraid to explore any themes whether of a dark or light nature.

Their unique style has seen them get radio support from BBC 6 music (Gilles Peterson and Craig Charles), Radio 1 (Huw Stephens, Phil Taggart, Friction and DJ Target), playlist on 1Xtra as well as support from BBC Radio 2 and 4 in the UK.

Attention gained by their debut album – ‘nothin is easy’ (released on Jalapeno Records) and growing momentum online in early 2015 saw them embark on their first headlining tour across France before playing Glastonbury, Mostly Jazz and Bestival at home.

By the time their second album – ‘chasin ghosts’ was released in October 2015 they were in demand across Europe and performed a 14 date sell out European tour.

Summer 2016 has seen them invited to play at Glastonbury, Wilderness and Boomtown in the UK as well as playing festival shows in France, Germany, Slovenia , Greece, Spain and Austria

The International Showcase Fund is helping to fund a showcase performance at Reeperbahn 2016 to aid further networking in the region and capitalise on the bands successes particularly in Germany and central Europe.
