About the composer

James Macmillan is the pre-eminent Scottish composer of his generation, hailed by The Guardian as ‘a composer so confident of his own musical language that he makes it instantly communicative to his listeners’. His music has been programmed and performed worldwide by distinguished orchestras, conductors and soloists.
