Oliver Knussen was one of the world’s most eminent and influential composers, creating work of crystalline concision, complexity and richness which cemented his position at the forefront of contemporary British music. As a conductor, Knussen was renowned for his unfailing advocacy across a wide range of contemporary music, as Music Director of the London Sinfonietta, Artist in Association with Birmingham Contemporary Music Group and Artistic Director of the Aldeburgh Festival.
