Rosie Tee: Women Make Music

Bio: Rosie Tee is a composer and performer who weaves a distinctive blend of electronica, psych, and avant-pop in the UK’s second city, Birmingham. Conjuring technicolor soundscapes, her music sits at the experimental edges of songwriting, where synth-driven atmospheres meet hypnotic grooves and folkloric lyrics. Her acclaimed mini-album ‘Night Creature,’ praised for its “glorious colours and textures” by The Quietus, features fantastical characters inspired by Polish folklore of her heritage. This year, she embarks on a new collaborative project with the Bristol-based Ukrainian choir Kozachky. “a real Midlands mover and shaker that isn’t scared to confuse or surprise” – Electronic Sound

Project Description: This live and recorded project is a bold new collaboration between Birmingham-based artist Rosie Tee, known for her psychedelic, synth-driven soundscapes and Kozachky, a spellbinding all-female Ukrainian choir from Bristol. Together, they conjure an immersive, danceable world where haunting choral melodies intertwine with experimental electronic production. Rooted in myth, ritual, and female empowerment, the music explores themes of witchery and folklore, with featured pieces like Kupala, a traditional Ukrainian song celebrating Midsummer’s Eve, invoking rich and transporting imagery. The live performance, to be presented at festivals in 2026, morphs as either as an audiovisual solo set or a full-scale show featuring Rosie Tee live on synths and electronics alongside the eight-voice Kozachky choir. Recorded, the music will form a mini-album in which for Tee to explore her own Eastern European heritage through synth-driven compositions – all made possible with support from PRSF’s Women Make Music fund and Sound UK.
