Sam Judd : Early Career Promoter Fund
Concise Description: Solidify my unique placement in bringing disparate musical worlds together, and new art to new audiences, by establishing a multi-media dance event series in Falmouth.
Bio: Sam Judd is an artist & promotor based in Falmouth, Cornwall, breaking dance music down to its fundamental essence and rebuilding it in exciting new ways. Through (LIMINALITY), an experimental new series of club-nights in Falmouth, he aims to celebrate the profound impact music, movement and togetherness has on our communities and how it transforms the lives of millions of people around the UK. Breaking conventions in curation, genre, design, audio-visual production and wider industry practices, he draws audiences into an immersive world where positive transformation occurs and new visions for the future take root. All this whilst supporting a new generation of talented musical creatives in Falmouth, building connections with established scenes around the UK, and hosting artists widely regarded as electronic music royalty.
PRS Foundation are supporting Sam in establishing (LIMINALITY), allowing him to pull out all of the stops to deliver an ambitious run of productions in Falmouth institution The Cornish Bank. The funding and Wraparound Support will enable him to bring internationally recognised dance music acts to Cornwall – sometimes for the first time ever – and work with talented lighting and installation artists to deliver a hypnotic multi-sensory experience. Through this work, Sam hopes to raise up a new community of incredible artists and introduce audiences around the UK to the exciting, diverse and truly unique dance music scene in Cornwall.
