Sans Soucis: POWER UP Music Creator
Short Bio: Ivor Novello-awarded Italian-Congolese singer, songwriter, and producer, Sans Soucis blends elements of R&B, electronic, and alt-pop, with self-discovery and storytelling at its core. Alongside gracing the stages of major showcase festivals including Pitchfork Paris, Eurosonic, SXSW (Austin), Reeperbahn, and also supporting the likes of Rina Sawayama, and Empress Of on her EU tour, in 2023, they received the Grand Jury Prize at the Music Moves Europe Awards, recognition from Spotify as one of their global Radar artists, and included as one of Ticketmaster’s Breakthrough Acts for that year. Their debut album which came out October 2024, Circumnavigating Georgia, is a deeply personal project which reflects on their coming of age journey as a black and queer person. Structured as a narrative, it weaves together personal history, and themes of identity, sexuality, and self-acceptance. The album has received support from BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio 1, Gay Times, BRICKS, PAPER Magazine, The Skinny, DIY Mag, DORK, and Line Of Best Fit, as well as DSP support including New Music Friday (Spotify), Glow (Spotify), New Pop Picks (Spotify) New Music Daily (Apple), and Brand New (Deezer). Tracks like If I Let A White Man Cut My Hair and Brave celebrate these themes and the strength found in community. On the latter track, they collaborated with comedian and activist Alok Vaid-Menon, while Circumnavigating Georgia, the album’s title track was awarded an Ivor Novello for Best Contemporary Song.
