Short Project Title: PRESENTER PROGRESSION
Bio: This award will allow Shakk to create a high quality showreel that properly reflects the level of work he is already doing as a presenter, host and curator. Shakk has hosted and curated a wide range of live events, hosted at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend, covered shows on BBC Radio 6 Music, and represented BBC internationally by hosting for the BBC in Austin, Texas at SXSW. This support would help him bring all of that experience together into a professional showreel that can open doors for future presenting opportunities. In a competitive industry, where small margins can make a real difference, having the right materials and presentation can be what separates people when opportunities come up. The award would also allow Shakk to gain mentorship from an industry leader in his field, giving him the chance to sharpen his craft, and understand how to take the next step in his career. Shakk has already shown that he can deliver across radio, live events, festivals and international industry spaces. This award would give him the tools, support and professional development needed to build on that momentum and position himself for future success.
