Sillkey: Hitmaker Fund

Hailing from Newtown, Birmingham (UK), artist, producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Sillkey was ordained with this moniker at just 5 years old after consistently wowing the seasoned musicians that would come through his father’s recording studio. His talent for producing luscious, silky sounds with keyboards, guitars, bass, drums, his own vocals and any other instrument that he applies his mastery to continues to consecrate the name.

Sillkey’s first forays into the professional music world came as a teenager touring Europe as a session musician. He then moved to London, where he was invited to collaborate with other rising artists and songwriters including Tre Jean-Marie, Rymez and Jaz Karis. Following on from success as co-producer of Wiley’s 2012 #3 UK hit ‘Can You Hear Me (Ayayaya)’, Sillkey has since developed a diverse catalogue as songwriter, producer and musician which includes releases with Jacob Banks, Mahalia, Mabel, Craig David and Ray BLK.

On top of writing and producing for other artists, Sillkey also produces, writes, sings and plays his own material and is set to release his sonically eclectic and lyrically autobiographical project ‘Maroon’ in summer 2020. With spine-shaking basslines, lush string arrangements and retro-tinged beats fusing gospel and his Caribbean roots, Sillkey’s unique production flavour and touch shine through on this remarkable body of work.
