Sophie Ackoryd: Hitmaker Fund

Sophie Ackroyd is a London-based songwriter-producer specialising in pop music. She has recently completed the 2019/2020 studio residency at Spotify’s Secret Genius Studio, where she spent 6 months working at Metropolis Studios. The highly competitive gig attracted media coverage with press interviews for PSN Europe magazine, as well as for Berklee Music College and Spotify For Artists.

Taking a rather unconventional route to where she is now, Sophie started her education with an English Literature degree from Oxford University, before realising her passion for songwriting. After leaving a steady job at the BBC in a career U-turn, she learned the ropes of audio engineering at various different London studios – Red Bull Studios and Battersea Park Studios (formerly Sphere Studios) before going freelance at her own studio at Nu Boyana in South London.

Passionate about artist development, Sophie has worked with artists from around the globe across many genres ranging from country to electronic pop and can adapt to any style as a versatile and inventive songwriter-producer. She is continuously working with some of the industry’s most up-and-coming artists and writers including Brooke Law, Kings Elliot and Leddra Chapman.
