Recording of Album Two
This funding will contribute towards studio time for, and recording of Sophie Jamieson’s second album in the summer of 2022. This album will follow hot on the footsteps of Album One which will be released on Bella Union at the end of the same year.
Sophie has been making waves in the music scene since 2013 when her first release, “Where EP” gained traction amongst UK listeners and bloggers completely organically and lead to increasingly high profile shows, tours and signings. Sadly a botched recording experience, a breakup and burnout precipitated a breakdown which pulled Sophie away from music for 4 years, in which she restarted life from scratch, thinking she wouldn’t make music again. In 2019 however, the songs started coming and she clung onto them for dear life. Since then Sophie has released two EPs, “Hammer” and “Release” to critical acclaim and recorded her debut album with Steph Marziano which is due for release in December 2022. Sophie delivers intimate, visceral, and uncomfortably honest songs. She explores the dips and troughs of mental health, uncompromising examinations of loneliness and character flaw, but always with an underlying strength that promises hope, and growth.
