‘heavenrise’

Tahliah Simumba, known professionally as TAAHLIAH, is a multidisciplinary artist and DJ based in Glasgow, Scotland. TAAHLIAH has proven herself to be one of the UK’s most exciting young artists, her slick and distinctive approach to music has led to viral Boiler Room moments, international tours, and performances at the likes of Glastonbury and Sonar, solidifying her status as an iconic figure in Glasgow’s club culture. TAAHLIAH’s original productions gained widespread acclaim with the release of her debut EP ‘Angelica’ in 2021, under London label untitled (recs). The project earned her the AIM Award for Best Independent EP/Mixtape, showcasing her unrestrained creativity across multiple mediums. This fearless spirit extends to her live performances, where she has captivated audiences at the Southbank Centre in a sold-out collaboration with the London Contemporary Orchestra and at renowned European venues such as Fabric, Nitsa, and Dour Festival. With her debut album, ‘Gramarye’, TAAHLIAH delves deeper into her artistic expression, exploring pop ballad songwriting through a series of interconnected, self-sampling tracks. This album offers an intimate and vulnerable glimpse into her inner world, further cementing her reputation as a multifaceted artist who continually pushes the boundaries of her craft.

TAAHLIAH presents ‘heavenrise’, her debut live show, a captivating blend of physical instrumentation with cutting-edge electronic sampling. Reanimating her debut album ‘Gramarye’ and repurposing material from past projects, ‘heavenrise’ creates an immersive environment that aims to envelop and challenge the audience.
