The Roundhouse: Talent Development Partner 2018

The Roundhouse is recognised as one of the UK’s leading music venues, offering unparalleled creative and music opportunities to over 4,000 young people each year.

With the support of PRS for Music Foundation as a Talent Development Partner The Roundhouse will continue their Roundhouse Rising Programme for Young Music Creators, Roundhouse Rising Festival, which is now in its eighth year, and provides a platform for emerging artists to be seen on the emerging and pre-emerging scene, as well as opportunities for professional development in the form of a one-day event, offering insight and advice from industry professionals, master classes, and workshops for emerging musicians. The Roundhouse will also provide Artist Toolkit Days involving sessions and workshops for those looking to jump into the Creative Industries, Rising Sounds, which offers twelve artists each year the chance to work with a leading industry producer over two days and Rising Presents – a series of gigs highlighting the best in emerging music in the run up to the annual Rising Festival.

“I thought the Rising Sounds Project was a great way for me to push myself by working with someone entirely new within a short period of time. It enabled me to create something fresh that I may not have created otherwise. My fondest memory, weirdly, is realizing how difficult but rewarding it is to work within a strict time period. I’ve always taken time over creating music so it was a good way to break the habit” Sam Gillbanks
