Bristol Music Trust: Talent Development Partner 2020
Bristol Music Trust runs Colston Hall, the South-West’s largest concert hall and offers a diverse programme of music for all and an award-winning Creative Learning & Engagement programme which includes music education, an artist development mentoring scheme and a talent development programme which showcased hundreds of emerging musicians last year.
Bristol Music Trust aims to bring the joy of live music to everyone through our programme of concerts and by supporting people to create and perform music to inspire emerging artists and foster wellbeing. Currently transforming Colston Hall into a world-class venue and making our programmes fully inclusive and accessible.
2020 – 2021:
Bristol Music Trust will support emerging music creators through 40 showcase opportunities in the programme, expanding the Bristol Takeover event and the Multi-Track artist development showcase.
Bristol Music Trust will support 40 emerging artists creating high-quality popular/electronic music by giving them performance opportunities as part of the Colston Hall Presents programme. As Colston Hall is currently closed for redevelopment (apart from the foyer space), they will showcase artists at various Bristol venues – providing 70 performance opportunities to emerging artists (rock, pop and electronic) from Bristol and the South West at a festival celebrating local music, the Bristol Takeover, in October.
Lastly they will support the 10 music creators taking part in one-year artist development scheme ‘Home-Grown Heat’, through a performance showcase in April.
