Drake Music: Talent Development Partner 2020

Drake Music’s practice is Disabled-led, and their work is entirely dependent on the interests, knowledge and skills of Disabled musicians. Their open approach is reflected in their commissioning programme – since 2017, supported genres have included dance, electronica, contemporary classical, sound art, experimental, improvisation, R&B, musical theatre, indie, folk and industrial.

Drake Music (DM) are leaders in music, disability and technology. With the Social Model of Disability at the core of their work, they use new/digital technology to remove disabling barriers to music-making. They co-create accessible instruments, commission new music, provide ground-breaking training and participatory initiatives for Disabled people across England.

2020 – 2021: The commissioning and devising of five works in multiple genres by innovative Disabled musicians, to include particular focus on creative collaboration and use of technology.
