Forté Project: Talent Development Fund 2020
Forté Project is a unique Talent Development Project supporting new music creators in Wales. The project is centred around key creative and career development support areas which will further improve chances of achieving successful, long-term professional careers.
Forté Project is a development of the SONIG programme led by Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council’s (RCTCBC) Arts & Creative Industries team. The SONIG programme is commissioned by RCTCBC as part of the Welsh Government’s ‘Families First’ Initiative to support young people into training, education and employment.
2020 – 2021:
Forté Project is centred around key creative and career development support areas which will further improve artists chances of achieving successful, long-term professional careers.
Forté Project currently supports ten young new music creators (annually) from across five regions in South Wales, all of whom generate original music. The project encompasses creative responses ranging from all forms of contemporary music including folk, pop, rnb, rock, rap, electronic, ska, country and grime. Forté Project has created a new development model that helps to bridge the gap in provision in South Wales. It aims to do so by supporting young talent with a series of interventions and mechanisms tailored to meet the needs of the artist in the early stages of their careers.
