Oh Yeah Music Centre: Talent Development Fund 2020

Oh Yeah is Belfast’s only dedicated music hub, providing the essential resources of rehearsal rooms, recording studio, live venue, training, song writing facilities, and office space for music industry tenants. Oh Yeah combines this with a series of talent and music development programmes from grassroots introductions to industry ready levels.

2020 – 2021: A talent funnel development system, including entry level advice and signposting (ASK), songwriter feedback, artist showcasing and Scratch My Progress (structured support and mentoring).

Oh Yeah works with entry level music creators right through to artists that are industry ready. This talent funnel model works across several areas of our work. Oh Yeah works mainly work in Belfast but involve acts from across NI. Oh Yeah incorporate as many genres as possible including indie, electronica, folk, pop and most recently has worked with Hip Hop artists. Oh Yeah spends much of their resources on finding acts with early, discernible talent and helping them become assured, skilled artists, with rising profiles and industry knowledge. Oh Yeah also promotes outstanding new music by coordinating the annual NI Music Prize.

‘While 2020 was a hugely challenging year, being part of the network was really helpful and it was inspiring to see how well TDP’s adapted to the challenges that it brought.’
