Saffron Records: Talent Development Fund 2020
Saffron is a music tech initiative taking an intersectional approach to redressing the gender imbalance in the industry. Our Artist Development Program supports three carefully selected emerging female artists each year, Saffron’s Artist Development Platform provides industry mentoring, access to our music tech education programs, membership service and the opportunity to record and release their music through our independent label.
Saffron aims to provide womxn and non-binary producers to offer them support wih leadership skills and strategic vision to take full creative control of their music careers. We love working with unique artists on diverse projects that stem from foundations in electronic production, these genres have previously included RnB and Afrobeat to Electronic Jazz and Nigerian Bass!!
‘2020-21 has been really difficult for us to, not just fulfil our commitments to our artist development program, but support the music creators through this experience that we don’t know when it will end. What we plan to do moving forward is find Covid proof methods to continue our support for our various artists offering them some level of stability, alongside opportunities and meaningful relationships with our partners and communities.’
