Saffron Records: Talent Development Fund 2020

Saffron supports women and gender minorities in music and music technology, challenging the current climate of the industry through education and empowerment centred around music production, sound engineering and DJing. Saffron’s artist development program and label gives womxn a platform to take their music skills to the next level.

2020 – 2021:

Saffron will provide 3 womxn artists with a framework to develop their music careers, primarily through industry mentoring and recording and releasing their music.

Music tech is at the core of Saffron’s work and they intend to support womxn who are exploring music production and creation through electronic, R&B and experimental genres. Bristol has long had a reputation for forward thinking electronic music through cross-cultural collaboration and they hope to reflect that. Saffron will work with music creators based in the South West of England that show a significant level of talent and drive already and now need support and a platform to present their music to a wider audience, in the hope of becoming career music creators in due course.
