The Music Works: Talent Development Fund 2020

The Music Works (TMW) core aim is to transform lives through music, developing programmes which break down barriers to making music and produce musical, social and personal outcomes. Specialising in working with young people facing barriers in music, in learning and in life. TMW work with young people to engage them through music and creativity; to build confidence, self-belief and motivation; and empower them to reach their full potential.

The UPSURGE Talent Development programme works with 18-30 year old Gloucestershire based/born emerging and talented musicians, artists, producers, engineers and other creators, who are at the beginning of their career. Creators are supported in genres such as; Hip Hop, R’n’B, Soul, Grime, Alternative, and other diverse genres. Creators are in a position of advancing their musical and technical skills to a professional level, and who have the potential to progress onto a career in music.

Being a Talent Development Partner has enabled our organisation to developed networks nationally, and develop working relationships across other TDPs. Over the past 3 years being supported by the PRS has helped strengthen our talent development offer for young aspiring artists/musicians.’
