Punch Records: Talent Development Partner
For:
Punch Record's MUSIC CONNECT; Developing the New Generation of UK BME Artists.
Originally an independent specialist vinyl retailer, Punch Records is today one of the UK’s largest Black Music development agencies. They work nationally and internationally; touring and commissioning new music, supporting new artists and developing young people. Punch’s annual music festival, BASS, has been established for over a decade, and their in-house radio station, MY TEN RADIO, champions young BAME artists. Punch is currently working with musicians in Surinam, Jamaica, Dominica and Senegal as part of their international music residency programme, HOMELANDS.
Through support from PRS for Music Foundation as a Talent Development Partner, Punch will be able to continue MUSIC CONNECT, a programme targeting emerging artists in contemporary Black Music genres. The programme includes bespoke mentoring sessions for young musicians; performance opportunities where emerging artists can meet industry professionals, informal artist meet-ups to explore new creative directions and support slots introducing emerging artists to the realities of commercial touring.
