Bristol Music Trust: Talent Development Partner 2019
Bristol Music Trust runs Colston Hall, the largest music venue in the South West. We aim to provide inspirational live music experiences and to support the next generation of musicians. Our popular programme of concerts and festivals at Colston Hall and across Bristol attracts 300,000 people per year and our talent development and education programmes benefit 40,000 aspiring artists.
Thanks to the PRSF Talent Development Partnership, throughout 2019/20, Bristol Music Trust will be running an Artist Development Programme to support talented new music creators through performance opportunities, industry seminars and masterclasses.
Within electronic and popular music genres, thirty-two promising local and national artists will be given the opportunity to perform as part of our Colston Hall Presents programme in venues across Bristol. We will also give twenty new music acts the chance to perform in our series of festivals including Rivertown, SimpleThings, The Downs and The Bristol Harbour Festival with industry talks.
Our Multi-Track underground music artist development platform will connect aspiring music creators with industry professionals through three industry seminars and three masterclasses to provide the tools and skills developing artists need to push for commercial success. We will also provide a showcase opportunity for three of our 2018/19 Multi-Track alumni at The Downs festival in July 2019, providing them with a key performance experience in front of a large crowd (the last festival attracted an audience of 27,000).
