Kitt Philippa: Momentum

On 11th October 2019, Kitt Philippa released their eagerly awaited debut album ‘Human’. With all three of the first singles from Kitt Philippa’s debut album ‘Human’ being nominated for Best Song by the Northern Irish Music Prize; the expectation was high for the album release but the critical review at major outlets has been widely positive, including;

– “outrageously amazing” -9.5/10 [Press Association UK]
– ‘Album of the year material, no bones about it.’ -9/10 [Hotpress]
– “many tracks read as messages of empowerment both to the writer and the listener. Human is a state-of-the-nation plea for understanding” – 3/5 [Irish Times]
– ‘the whole thing adds up to songwriting of incredible power’ [Sunday Times / Breaking Act].

Kitt Philippa has played some of the biggest festivals in the promotional trail for the album including; Latitude Festival [UK], Electric Picnic [Ireland], All Together Now [Ireland], Body & Soul [Ireland] and Ward Park Bangor supporting Snow Patrol [40k capacity] and supported SOAK, Lisa Hannigan, Lucy Dacus, Mt. Joy, Hilary Woods, Tiny Ruins, Wye Oak in a consistent club show schedule over the last 18+ months in the UK and Europe.

Kitt Philippa has been announced as an RTE 2FM Rising Act for 2020 following in the footsteps of Dermot Kennedy, Fontaines DC and their music has been championed by Mary Anne Hobbs, Tom Robinson, Tom Ravenscroft, Huw Stephens, Phil Taggart in the UK.The Momentum fund support will be used to generate new music and increase live activity in the UK
