Bourgeois & Maurice: Insane Animals: The Open Fund for Organisations

HOME will be working with award-winning cabaret duo Bourgeois & Maurice to create a new full length musical which will premiere at HOME in 2020.

The production will draw inspiration from the ancient poem The Epic of Gilgamesh as the basis for a subversive, queer exploration of death and immortality. It will explore the nature of humanity, where we have come from and where we might be heading in the future. To inform the production, the music creators have worked with a network of scientists and academics exploring the future of science, immortality and the human body.

Insane Animals is the output of the T1 Commission, a unique opportunity at HOME for a small-scale performer to scale up and make work for a larger stage for the first time, whilst being provided with skills training and mentoring HOME and leading theatre makers.
