Sensoria Festival 2019: The Open Fund for Organisations

Sensoria is the UK’s festival of music, film and digital combining a heady mix of live music, film screenings, exhibitions and installations at venues across Sheffield. This year we will present an imaginatively curated programme on the themes of ‘Fantastic Planet’ and ‘Myths and Legends’.

Our ‘Fantastic Planet’ plans include Scottish multi-instrumentalist Erland Cooper presenting a nature inspired performance. The Myths and Legends programme will include ‘reclaiming Robin Hood’ for a cross artform event that brings Robin of Loxley back to his ‘birthplace’.

Fay Hield’s ‘Modern Fairies’ project showcases new interpretations of British folk-tales and songs about fairies and the supernatural.

Creep Show brings together John Grant with the dark analogue electro of Wrangler (Stephen Mallinder / Phil Winter / Benge). Following their debut album Mr Dynamite (voted 2018 Album Of The Year by Electronic Sound Magazine), Sensoria is pleased to host their first new show – packed with experimental pop and surreal funk.

The 2nd ‘Beats Working’ award will provide a platform for an emerging band/musician from among Sheffield’s wealth of home-grown talent.

SensoriaPro will serve music and creative media practitioners with information and advice covering Festivals, Labels, music video and more.

There will be more exciting announcements as the festival gathers momentum towards an autumn event exploring all the latest developments in music and the moving image.
