The Silhouettes Project – UK Tour
The Silhouettes Project is a strongly community based outfit with a progressive ethos, aiming to platform the grassroots scene for jazzy hip/hop and soul in the UK and beyond. Based in Hackney and launched in 2019, they bring together their community to collaborate together and create album projects.
They released Vol.1 in 2020 and it has gone from strength to strength since then with many artists building careers from their involvement. They passed 1 million monthly listeners across all DSP’s in 2023, and performed at several festivals in the UK and in Europe this year including Glastonbury, as well as a tour planned for March 2024 finishing in London at KOKO.
Vol 1 included artists like ENNY, Bel Cobain, Lex Amor, Nix Northwest and 30+ others. They have now started the roll out for Vol.2 which retains our ethos of raising up grassroots artists but also brings in some names such as Kojey Radical, Frankie Stew & Harvey Gunn and Jords into the fold.
Too often community projects are associated with lower quality output but we are proving that not only is this untrue, but actually that the very best artistic production comes from the community on the ground – it just needs the infrastructure to push it.
