Tony Njoku: PPL Momentum Music Fund

The creation and Performance of a new collaborative album

Tony Njoku is a London-based electronic music producer, songwriter and composer celebrated for his boundary-pushing approach to electronic and experimental music. Blending elements of art-pop, soul, avant-garde, and classical music, Njoku creates rich, atmospheric soundscapes that are both innovative and deeply personal. Masterfully crafting together ethereal synthesizers with somber piano pieces, emotive falsetto vocals, spiritual introspection, and bassy percussive glitches that oscillate between his London and Lagos influences.

In 2024, Njoku released Last Bloom, continuing his exploration of merging classical instrumentation with avant-garde electronica and distinct song-writing. His classical influences and experimental ethos make him stand out in the contemporary music scene, earning praise from trusted outlets and tastemakers, including: The Quietus, Dazed, The Guardian, Mary Ann Hobbs (BBC 6 Music), Tom Ravenscroft (BBC 6 Music), Cerys Matthews (BBC 6 Music), Loud and Quiet and many more for his fearless, genre-bending work.

In addition to his recorded music, Njoku’s live performances are known for their emotional intensity and artistic flair, making him one of the most exciting and innovative voices in both the UK’s electronic and experimental music scenes.

The Momentum Fund will be directly supporting Njoku’s next full length album, a significant body of work that is focused on collaboration and aims to work with several black artists in the UK’s alternative music scene.
