Bio: We are The Unheard is at the forefront of a transformative movement within the music industry, addressing the critical need for gender equality, equity and diversity. Our organisation is driving meaningful change dedicated to bringing under represented voices to the forefront. Through education, awareness and advocacy, we strive to create a culture of acceptance and support. We believe in the power of diversity and recognise that socio economic backgrounds, race, motherhood, gender, age, sexual orientation and neurodiversity are all fundamental aspects of human variation, enriching our collective experience and driving innovation in the music industry.
Project Title: The Unheard Academy offers educational programmes in music production and songwriting for female, non-binary and gender expansive creatives
Programme Description: The Unheard Academy is on a mission to challenge the stark reality of fewer than 5% female producers in the UK’s top 100. Our service provides accessible and inclusive music production training to underrepresented women and gender-expansive producers, songwriters and artists. We offer three comprehensive 8-week online training programs utilising the leading industry DAW, Ableton. Taught by female Ableton Certified Trainers, these programs cater to all skill levels—beginner, intermediate, and advanced—ensuring continuous development and career growth. At the end of the program, participants will not only have honed their music production skills but will also have the opportunity to become certified Ableton trainers themselves.<br />In addition to our structured courses, The Unheard Academy hosts a series of dynamic masterclasses led by industry experts. These sessions cover essential topics such as funding personal creative projects, mental health, metadata management, vocal production, songwriting, mixing, and mastering. Our masterclasses are designed to provide invaluable insights and practical knowledge, empowering participants to navigate and succeed in the music industry. The Unheard Academy is a transformative movement, breaking barriers and shaping a more diverse and inclusive future in music production.
