William Hand : Early Career Promoter Fund
Concise Description: We want to put on a festival-style Summer day-into-night party with a range of headliners at Ouseburn Garden in Newcastle at the beginning of June
Biog: Profound Sound was founded in 2022 by three school friends during their time at university – Jack Sweetbaum, Will Holyoake and Will Hand. The brand began as a platform to help promote the underground music being made by the new generation of artists leading the revival of the UK Garage scene. As their network expanded, they launched their own record label, Profound Sound Records, which naturally evolved into hosting their own events. These events have since seen them bring artists such as Conducta, Bakey, Silva Bumpa, Bullet Tooth, Y U QT and more up to Newcastle. Now at a pivotal period in their growth, Profound Sound are seeking the financial independence to continue scaling their brand while preserving their credibility within the grassroots electronic music scene in the North-East and beyond. With support from the PRS Foundation, they plan to produce a large-scale, one-off independent event featuring multiple headliners across various genres. This project aims to present a broader and more diverse perspective on underground electronic music, moving beyond the boundaries of UK Garage, expanding their audience, and laying the foundation for a more sustainable long-term career in the events industry.
