Willie J Healey: Momentum
Willie J Healey’s refreshing pop-inflected rock and roll seems curiously invigorating and subversive. The 23-year-old Oxford resident has cut an exciting path with his no-nonsense songwriting. Healey’s evolution over the last couple of years has seen him find a distinctly refreshing musical voice.
Will released his debut album in August 2017, the brilliant ‘People and Their Dogs’. The album saw him pick up three consecutive BBC 6 Music playlistings and caught the ears of the likes of Jamie T. Orlando Weeks and Felix White of The Maccabees who declared him ‘the best songwriter in the country’. Such acclaim has lead Will to ready a brand new set of recordings that form a full EP set to be released on Felix White’s YALA! Records (The Magic Gang, WhenYoung, YAK) in late summer 2018.
