Chagall: Women Make Music

Chagall is an Amsterdam-born, London-based electronic music producer, songwriter, singer, performer and early adopter of the MI.MU Gloves interface (developed by Imogen Heap). Her music combines soulful vocals, heartfelt harmonies and lyricism with heavy but constrained electronic production. Chagall’s mesmerising live show ‘Calibration’ is a physical manifestation of these electronic productions, using the movement of her body to directly render the music, vocal effects and reactive visual projections live to audiences. With performances at SXSW, Amsterdam Dance Event, Latitude, Ableton Loop, Sonar +D and many more she’s one of the most experienced users of the MI.MU technology to date.

In 2018/2019 she will be working on a new project, ‘Ukiyo Cave’, a virtual world where audiences are invited to do nothing but to listen and become fully part of Chagall’s music and connect with her story. The PRS Foundation has supported Chagall to collaborate with musician Raven Bush and record the songs for this EP.

Chagall is also a representative of the PRS Foundation Keychange programme, an initiative empowering women to transform the future of the music industry by showcasing, speaking and collaborating at festivals in Europe & Canada in 2018.
